Artist, Spiderfish Studios

I’m based in the Bay Area and focus on exploring vulnerability and celebrating individuality with bold colors and an expressive style through my artwork. My interest in art was inspired by my grandmother, who was a professional, award-winning fine artist who had a big home studio in Los Angeles that I liked to rummage through while growing up and paint in during my visits.

I always took art lessons but started taking them regularly from middle school through high school through a local Bay Area studio where I eventually began to teach younger students. I grew my skills with many mediums and subjects and taught kids to draw everything from portraits to Santa Claus and everything in between. I love teaching art and am grateful to have learned how to encourage others to embrace their creativity.

Artist Statement

Growing up with my grandmother's figure drawings on the walls, I developed an interest in the art of creating these faster-paced and often live drawing sessions. My own take on this classic and challenging subject matter was shaped by studying figure drawing in Paris and Palo Alto, California. Today, I combine sketching, painting, and digital editing to create layered works that capture the quiet, intimate moments of individuals as they navigate life.

To me, figure drawings represent a state of authenticity and the balance between relatability and uniqueness. I seek to reconnect us on a human level and celebrate both our individuality and our common threads. My hope is that my work can serve as a reminder of our shared humanity that binds us in a world that can often feel divided.
